Aphelandra (Zebra Plant)

Aphelandra, which is an indoor plant and it, is known as "zebra plant"; as its common name. “Aphelandra squarrosa” is known as scientific name of aphelandra plant and it belongs from family of “Acanthaceae”. Its leaves are green in color with white stripe and when the color is changed from green to brown, its are falling down.These types of plants need maximum sunlight but it must be needed full or half shade. In morning, it must be planted in outside and in time of increasing of heat, and then it can be situated under shade. As all indoor plants, this plant loves warm weather and it needs temperature “between 15°C to 30°C” for well growth of this plant. It must be needed moist in soil, especially in Summer season and it must not be need much water in Winter season. It needs regular watering in Warm weather and twice or trice in a week in cold weather. In growing time of aphelandra plant needs liquid fertilizer and in non-growing time it must not be need fertilizing. The color of flowers of this plant is yellow.
