Plum Plant is fruit plant, which is very tasty and jam or jelly is making by this fruit. This fruit is a stone or drupe fruit that is belongs from family of “Rosaceae” and known as “Alubukhara” in Bengali. The scientific name of plum plant is “Prunus domestica” and this fruit is purple, red or yellow in color. Its flesh is smooth, juicy and it is one seeded fruit.

Plum plant needs full sunlight and well-drained soil for its fast growing. It can tolerate sandy soil, sandy loam soil and sandy clay loam soil and types of sandy soil is being well drained. Plum tree needs fertilizer on its growing time in starting of Spring and in Autumn season. It must be protect from cold wind. This plant needs most water in hot weather like Summer season and reduced water in cool weather like Winter season. In dry time, it needs much water for its well growth and it prefers full sunlight but in afternoon shade is preferable for its well growth.
