Pineapple (Anarosh) Plants

Pineapple plant is a wonderful fruit plant that is known as “Anarosh” in Bengali and scientific name of this plant is “Ananas comosus” that belongs from family of “Bromeliaceae”. It is green colored in unripe condition and yellowish color in ripe condition. Fruit of this plant is known as Pineapple and it is very fresh and juicy. It is used as food like fruit.

Pineapple is a very easy growing plant. Pineapple in a sunlight loving plant it needs minimum five hours constantly bright sunlight. But in afternoon, it needs shade or indirect sunlight. It hates cold weather; it needs temperature mostly 15°C to 22°C for its fast growth. It needs regular watering like once or twice in a week for its well growth. In growing season, soil must not be soft and watery. It needs well-drained soil and liquid fertilizing is preferable for its growth.
